Beijing MH370 more than 300 families march to Malaysian Embassy bitterly

Flight news leaves families full of grief

More than 300 relatives and friends of missing Flight MH370 passengers are marching on foot to the Malaysian Embassy in Beijing to express their anger and frustration with Malaysian authorities, after police prevented them from leaving their hotel in buses.

Police have also cordoned off the street in front of the Embassy.

Family and friends of the Chinese passengers have been staying at the Lido Hotel, near Beijing's International Airport, since the airliner vanished more than two weeks ago.

"It's rather unusual having people walking through the streets protesting," Beijing journalist Connie Young told CNN's Anderson Cooper.

On Monday, Malaysia's prime minister announced that Flight MH370 ended in a remote part of the Indian Ocean. Malaysian Airlines informed relatives by text message that the lives of all on board the plane had been lost.

The airline is working on an arrangement to fly families to Australia once wreckage is found.

Visa fees will be waived for the families of MH370 passengers and crew flying in to Australia, Australian Defense Minister David Johnston said Tuesday.
