Woman busted after gloating on Facebook about passing breathalyzer test

Detailed by Detroit's WDIV recently, 22-year-old Colleen Cudney thought it would be an absolutely brilliant idea to update her Facebook page with a status update about passing a breathalyzer test after drinking on St. Patrick's Day. Of course, Cudney was being forced to take the breathalyzer test since she was on probation for a 2012 drunk driving conviction in Michigan. Typical of that type of probation, Cudney isn't allowed to drink alcohol and is required to submit to alcohol testing at random intervals.

Described in the grammatically challenged Facebook post, Cudney wrote "Buzz killer for me, I had to breatalyze (sic) this morning and I drank yesterday but I passed thank god lol my dumbass."

After Cudney's original breathalyzer test, a Westland police officer spotted her Facebook post and immediately informed the probation office. At this point, the office called Cudney to schedule a urine test. That test would have able to definitely tell if Cudney had consumed any alcohol during the 80 hours prior to the test.

Obviously not interested in taking a test that she would fail, Cudney immediately hung up the phone. Of course, the act of hanging up the phone was a violation according to the probation office. While Cudney would have been free of probation completely in just a few weeks, she now faces up to 93 days in jail for violating her probation as well as an additional period of probation when she's released. Cudney has an April 1 court date to discuss the violation.

Of course, this isn't the first time that bragging on Facebook has landed someone in jail. During February 2014, a Texas man was arrested shortly after taunting authorities with a "Catch Me If You Can" Facebook post. A similar arrest occurred during July 2013 when a 27-year-old woman bragged about her stolen items on the local police department Facebook page.
