Church Member Sues Church For N98,850,000 Fraud

Scientology Society has been blamed for too many 'sinful' things lately.

Vance Woodward sues Church of Scientology for N98.8million fraud

John Travolta & Tom Cruise's Church of Scientology under Siege!

An Ex-Scientology church member Vance Woodward is blowing the lid off of the business of Scientology in a new lawsuit this week, claiming that actors Tom Cruise and John Travolta's church ripped him off to the tune of $600,000 [N98.8 million] during his time as a member. What's more, valid tax documents exposing how the church snatches millions from people like Woodward have now been revealed making things even worse.

In the new court documents obtained by Radar Online yesterday, Woodward claims that when he became an active member in 1997, he was told "by participation in Scientology practices, a person would be able to cure themselves of ANY and ALL psychological and spiritual difficulties" and also "develop superhuman abilities" that included the capacity to "evolve into a new species, from a homo sapiens to a so-called homo novis." But he claims he was told that would come at a price.

At the end he allegedly paid "roughly $600,000 to various Scientology corporations from 2007 to 2010 alone, the documents claim, he was "acting under duress, undue influence and the nefarious psychological manipulation and abuse of Defendants".

The victim also claims that some Scientology staff members "encouraged [Woodward] to pay money to take courses and receive auditing at SF Church, both of which the SF Church charged on a fee-per-service basis," and so he dished out "huge sums to do so," even going so far as to "turn over all his money and max out his available credit."

As more and more Scientology secrets come to light, one area of the church remains shrouded in mystery — its finances! Recent reports are claiming that Scientologists are closely guarding their tax-exempt status ensuring the church does not have to file tax returns.

But seriously guys: Who do you blame here – The Church or The Church Member?
