Apple delays Mac Pro shipping window again, now ’5-6 weeks’ away

Apple has once again delayed the estimated shipping window for the new Mac Pro, according to the company's North American retail sites. Those interested in picking up one of Apple's new top-of-the-line desktop computers will now have to wait "5-6 weeks" to get their hands on the hardware, according to Mac|Life. To this point, Apple's site stated that new customers would receive their rigs sometime this month.

The Mac Pro has been plagued by a series of shipping delays since its release in December. First, Apple changed the ship date from December to February. Then, in January, the ship date was bumped back to March, then again to April, with the previous delay occurring while the calender was still on February.

Apple's new projection suggests that the supply chain issues that have been keeping the company's newest systems out of customer hands will not be going away any time soon. The specific reason for the delays are currently unknown.

There is a slight glimmer of hope for some buyers though: 9to5Mac claims that the European Apple sites still have Mac Pros arriving in "April," though that could soon change as well. The delay that pushed the Mac Pro's shipping date to March first appeared on non-U.S. Apple Store sites, only to show up on the U.S. version of the page a short time later.
