He was the country's own Fela Anikulapo Kuti – Something like that!

RIP 'Ndinga Man' - Best known for his anti-Government music.

Cameroonian conscious musician Lapiro de Mbanga has died. The singer reportedly passed on while on self exile in USA on Sunday morning after suffering from a disease he allegedly contacted while serving jail time in Cameroon.

Jacob Nguni, a famous guitarist and ex-soloist of the famed Rocafil Jazz Orchestra by Prince Nico Mbarga confirmed the news to Cameroon-info.net, "It's very hard ...my brother died about 4hours ago ...We're still working out the details."

However, it looks like his death is now been blamed on the Cameroonian government who have jailed the music star countless times because of his anti-Government music, forcing him to relocate to the States for a better life, "This is a criminal act by the Cameroonian Authorities," Nguni stated, "Lapiro died of a disease that was detected in his first year in prison ... which was explicitly ordered not to be treated while he was serving time."

Unfortunately for the star, it was too late to treat himself by the time he was released from jail and went to US.

The shocking revelation came when the same Jacob Ngun mentioned that it's likely the Authorities never wanted to be responsible for his ill health or death, so they released him, "Lapiro was curiously released because the Cameroonian authorities who knew the truth on his illness did not want him to die in prison," he said.

Ndinga Man as he was fondly called, was best known for his non-support of the Government policies especially socio-economic policies and he didn't hold back on blasting them through his famous songs.

May his soul rest in peace.
