As an Education Outreach Program Manager in Google’s engineering education team, you’ll be responsible for leading and delivering our mission of expanding access to quality education to drive more learners to develop (employable) skills in your region. Ideal candidates will have experience in the education sector (K-12 and/or Higher Education), offline and online community management, as well as stakeholder, vendor and program management. The Education Outreach Program Manager will act as the main point of contact for decision makers and stakeholders for all Google education outreach programs in the region. You’ll be responsible for working with multiple stakeholders to develop the education strategy for the region, localize existing programs as well as drive the execution of programs in the region. To achieve your goals, you will work with cross-functional global Google teams, covering product, engineering, developer relations, marketing, university relations, volunteers, along with external vendors and partners.

Responsibilities:
• Build and drive strategies for regional education programs and outreach to help achieve Google’s mission in the region, and identify work/process inefficiencies and contribute to efforts to reduce or eliminate those inefficiencies.
• Execute country and regional programs including complex regional level program management: activities include project portfolio management, resource planning, identifying/mitigating risk, and delegating responsibilities and coordinating the work of other program managers.
• Lead cross-organizational communication with stakeholder teams to get and maintain buy-in, as well manage relationships with multiple external stakeholders, and maintain education projects priorities and technical resources, define and manage regional budget.
• Identify, manage and grow effective and active Education Community Leaders through the Google Educator Groups and Google Student Ambassadors programs in your region in accordance with the agreed upon regional priorities and country plans.
• Identify, select with relevant partners/vendors in the education and government sector with the objective of scaling education programs in the region. You’ll also manage ongoing relationship and evaluation of these partners/vendors.

Minimum qualifications:
• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
• Experience managing multiple complex projects and people management.
• Experience in an educational role, e.g. as an academic (faculty, teacher or administrator in an educational institution) or working in policy or outreach capacity at a national or regional level.
• Experience in community management.

Preferred qualifications:
• Experience leading cross-organizational projects with multiple stakeholders, and leading and managing teams and people.
• Experience working with students and teachers in K-12 and Higher Education space, and experience as an active participant (ideally as a leader) in education/developer/business communities.
• Proven ability to supplement effective project management with analytical and leadership skills to deliver complex projects and manage the relationships among them.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Google-specific technologies and methodologies for education.
• Excellent in written and verbal English language.
