Christian Slater on ‘Mind Games’ ratings: ‘The audience has to build’

ABC's Mind Games isn't an out-of-the-gates hit. Far from it — the show debuted Feb. 25 to 3.6 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demo, and slid to a 0.6 rating on Tuesday.
But Christian Slater, who plays one half of the fraternal duo (alongside Steve Zahn) in charge of a unique problem-solving company, says Mind Games just needs time to grow. "Look, I think it's a great show," says the actor, whose last TV foray was the 2011-2012 comedy Breaking In. "This really is a show that has to grow, and you have to get invested, and the audience has to build."

And Slater promises Mind Games, which airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m.,  has plenty in store for viewers who stick with it. "It gets crazier and crazier as we continue to go into the rabbit hole. Ross, my character — he's a sweet guy, but he's definitely mischievous, definitely a liar and makes some horrible, horrible choices."
