Chocolate City Vs Brymo Court Lifts Ban On Brymo's Music

Brymo, Merchants-dealers-slaves, new album

Ex-Chocolate City singer, Brymo, has been cleared to become a musician again, as a Federal High Court in Lagos, Nigeria has lifted an interim order of injunction ordered on the request of his former record label, Chocolate City, against Brymo releasing any musical work.

Punch Newspaper reports that the injunction put on by Justice Ibrahim Buba on October 21, 2013 to restrain the singer from releasing or distributing any musical work, pending the determination of a substantive suit against him has been lifted, and Brymo is free to release his music until a decision in court is made.

Chocolate City has maintained that Brymo's contract is still valid up to 2016, and as such, he should not be allowed to renege on the contract. Brymo on the other hand, after unceremoniously leaving the label has maintained that Chocolate City didn't live up to their end of the contract.

Brymo released his 3rd album, Merchants, Dealers & Slaves in October of 2013, and has received a lot of great reviews from critics and fans.

The court case is adjourned till March 19th, and 20th 2014.
