Police were called to a barn off Stondon Road in Meppershall at about 02:30 GMT.
Officers prevented one van with a generator and music equipment reaching the site, although one other managed to get through, a spokesman said.
The police helicopter was deployed but no arrests have been made as yet. About 150 people are still at the site.
