Cameroonian and Chelsea FC striker Samuel Eto'o is a prolific player but his age has suddenly become an issue. There has been a rumor of a bust-up between the Cameroon striker and Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese coach was overheard joking about his age.
"The problem with Chelsea is I lack a scorer. I have Eto'o but he is 32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?" Mourinho said in a private conversation which was secretly recorded and later published on a sports website early this week. It has however, been since taken down," according to goldrushnigeria.blogspot.com.
Was 'The Special One' saying Eto'o can't deliver because he's too old or he really didn't know how old the striker is?
While the striker says he doesnt owe any explanation to anyone concerning his age, Eto'o's ex baby mama, Anna Barranca, an Italian hairdresser (43) has jumped on board to reveal the striker's real age. The mother of Samuel's 11 year old daughter (Annie), claims the Cameroonian forward is way older than Jose's '32'. She claims he's not 32 or 35, "he is 39 going on 40".
"I think Samuel is not 35 he is more 39. Samuel was born in 1974 and so that makes him 39 now." She claims she was informed of Eto'o's true age when they were dating by a friend who grew up with Eto'o in Cameroon (according to The Sun)
For those asking why she seems to hate, she also claimed Eto'o has abandoned her and his daughter who was conceived about 11 years ago. He is now married to an Ivorian woman Georgette and has a daughter too.
However, according to his passport, Eto'o was born in 1981.
