North Circular Road crash leaves three dead in london

Two men have been arrested after three people died when a car collided with a lorry and caught fire.

The Subaru Impreza was travelling on London's North Circular Road in Arnos Grove at about 00:30 GMT when it hit the central reservation.

It then crashed into the lorry coming in the other direction and burst into flames, killing three occupants.

Two men who were in a Vauxhall Astra have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The lorry driver suffered minor injuries.

Travel disruption

The Astra was also involved in the crash and the two men were taken to hospital.

One was discharged and then arrested, while the second man was arrested but remains in hospital.

Both carriageways of the North Circular Road were shut. Drivers were advised to use other routes.

The crash happened on a stretch called Bowes Road, near the junction with Natal Road, police said.
