According to reports by Scoop, the former NAFDAC boss is having serious health issues and has been advised by her doctor to leave for India immediately.
Akunyili, who is a delegate in the ongoing National Conference, was just recovering from a serious ailment which she suffered from late last year into this year.
After being away from the public eye for months, she attended the Confab after saying she had fully recovered and only needed time to put on some weight.
Scoop reports that officials of the foreign affairs ministry are trying their best to secure an Indian visa immediately for her so she can fly tonight as a private jet is already on standby.
