TOP NEWS: R. Kelly’s Daughter to Become Transgender Male

0612DreaJay

Finding out the sex of your baby is one of the most enamoring times of any pregnancy. Whether you’re one of those anxious parents who tries around 14 weeks to get a peek, or you wait until the moment he or she arrives into the world, knowing whether you’re raising a little princess or mini superhero is one of the proudest moments of many parents’ lives. Based upon the sex of your child you begin to subconsciously create a life for them.

For your baby girl it could be dreams of her becoming a famed ballerina, a la Misty Copeland. And for your baby boy it could be hoop dreams—maybe much like the ones Lebron James’ mother fantasized for her son. But as singer R. Kelly and his ex-wife Andrea Kelly are currently learning, now more than ever, parents are having to deal with the complicated task of raising homosexual and transgender children. And complicated is relative.

For some parents “complicated” means the struggle of accepting your little girl doesn’t feel true to herself in big bows, pink dresses and leopard print headbands. For others it’s trusting that their little boy can stick up for himself when bullies tease him for being too girly.

As Jaya Kelly, R. Kelly and Andrea’s son who now simply goes by Jay explains, he knew very early on that he did not identify with the female body and mold he was expected to fit. In a question and answer session on website Ask.fm, he knew he didn’t want to wear dresses, grow his hair long or have breasts or female sexual organs. And now, he has decided to have a life-changing operation, which will officially make him the boy he has always wanted to be. “I believe I am a boy and want surgery and the medication to help me [be] who I was supposed to be.”

Jay explains that while he hasn’t heard from his baby-making-music-singer father since he made the announcement, his Hollywood Exes star mother has been there by his side supporting him every step of the way, “My mom was like, ‘Baby, you know I love you if you were bi, gay, lesbian, you name it and I would still love you so much.’” And while there’s an initial shock once your child confirms that he or she is anything too much outside of the lines, parents must understand that “the lines” are what we make them; bounds are set to be pushed and limits are made to be broken. And as we instill in our children enough fearlessness to conquer the world and challenge life as we know it, we can’t limit that drive to one particular facet of their lives.

We have to give our children the freedom to unashamedly be 100 percent their authentic selves. If we, the person who birthed them, raised them, taught them and told them we are their number one fan, limit our support of their endeavors, decisions and ambitions only to things we agree with, we are limiting their potential and diminishing their value to the world.

Imagine a world where President Barack Obama’s mother disapproved of him attending law school and going into politics for fear that it might be too much pressure for her son. Or a world where Tina Knowles thought her daughters dreams of singing and dancing in front of thousands of spectating fans was a little too ambitious—get a medical degree just to have a Plan B, Beyoncé. As parents, we must trust our children and be there to guide, advise and support them. That’s what they need us for. We weren’t entrusted with their lives to mold their spirit, we were, instead, given the gifts who are our children to be the first example of unconditional love and unwavering support. Teach them, guide them, love them, but most of all trust them. You’d be surprised how much you can learn from them. Benjamin Ekpenyong

Miley Cyrus may need a better security system.
On Friday, the "Wrecking Ball" singer's home was robbed for the second time this year. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating a burglary at the home of the 21-year-old performer, The Insider With Yahoo confirms.
"On May 30, 2014, around 4 p.m., North Hollywood officers responded to a radio call of a burglary, in the North Hollywood Area. A male and female scaled a fence to gain access to the property," the LAPD said in a statement. "They removed property including jewelry and a 2014 white, 4-door Maserati Quattroporte."
No word on the estimated value of the jewelry stolen, but the Maserati has a projected sticker price of $102,500.
Cyrus's assistant reportedly came home and found things out of place and called the cops, according to E! News. Police revealed there were no signs of forced entry.
Cyrus wasn't home at the time of the crime. She is currently overseas on her Bangerz tour in Europe, set to perform in Copenhagen on Wednesday.
After the bad news broke, she tweeted, "ya know when you just want to cry in the shower for no reason" followed with another tweet, "so fu—in homesick."

Unfortunately for the former Disney darling, this is the second time her pad has been pilfered. In November, one day after her 21st birthday, she had property stolen from her house while she was away on her tour. There were no signs of forced entry during that burglary either.
LAPD are asking for tips as their investigation continues.

Beyonce Posts About People Who Are 'Not a Good Influence'

Two days after the alleged incident where Solange Knowles attacked Jay Z in an elevator after the Met Gala, Beyonce was posting a "Prayer to God."
On May 7, she posted a note on Instagram, saying "Lord, I lift up everyone of my relationships to You and ask You to bless them. I pray that each one would be glorifying to You."

Beyonce has not commented on if this is related in any way to her sister and the incident two days earlier on May 5 an a Met Gala after-party at The Standard Hotel, but the message continued, "Help me to choose my friends wisely so I won't be led astray. Give me discernment and strength to separate myself from anyone who is not a good influence."

News of the altercation broke Monday after a video was released by TMZ of Solange Knowles allegedly attacking her brother-in-law Jay Z.

The video shows Knowles walking up to Jay Z and then punching and kicking him, while a bodyguard does his best to hold her back. At the end of the 58-second clip, Beyonce, 32, steps in between the two.

Jay Z, 44, seen in the video wearing in a white tux, which he wore to the Met, does his best to stand away from Solange in the corner of the elevator and just put his hands up in defense. Solange continues to kick him, even with the bodyguard holding her.

Reps for both parties have not yet responded to a requests for comment.

Porsche CAR company sued over crash that killed Paul Walker

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The widow of the man who was driving a Porsche sports car that crashed and killed actor Paul Walker sued the automaker on Monday, claiming design flaws caused both men to die in a fiery crash in November.

The wrongful death lawsuit by Kristine M. Rodas says her husband was driving at 55 mph — not at unsafe speeds as law enforcement investigators determined — before it crashed last year. Roger W. Rodas was driving a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT capable of more than 200 mph, but his wife's lawsuit says the vehicle lacked a proper crash cage and safety features in the gas tank that would have saved both men's lives.
The lawsuit also contends that a failure in the car's suspension system forced it to careen out of control and strike three trees while driving down a street in Santa Clarita.

"The Carrera GT was unsafe for its intended use by reason of defects in its manufacture, design, testing, component and constituents, so that it would not safely serve its purpose," the lawsuit states.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages from Porsche Cars North America, which did not immediately return email messages seeking comment.

Kristine Rodas' attorney, Mark Geragos, said he hired the top experts in the country to evaluate the wreckage and crash. The results, he said, were an unbiased look at the accident that refutes an official investigation that determined the sports car was speeding at up to 94 mph when it crashed.
The results of an investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and California Highway Patrol was released in March and concluded that it was unsafe speed and not mechanical problems that caused the crash. That investigation was aided by engineers from Porsche, who evaluated the wreckage of the rare car.

The differing opinions on the crash will likely be a part of any trial over the lawsuit, which could take years to resolve.

Roger Rodas was trained as a race car driver, according to his wife's lawsuit. He left behind two young children upon his death.

Walker, the star of the "Fast & Furious" film franchise, co-owned an auto racing team with Rodas named Always Evolving.

Walker's death occurred on a break in the filming of "Fast & Furious 7," and the actor's two brothers are helping complete action scenes in the film. The film's release has been delayed until April 2015.
