2014 Milan Fashion Week has been a proving ground for many a Chinese model. And the growing number of
Chinese designs on the catwalk there is proof of the great demand in the fashion industry for brands "Designed in China".
For 22 year old Wu Wenxiao, this was his first time travelling abroad. He's not here in Milan on a tourist trip,
but as a model at the Milan Fashion Week.
As a young Chinese model who just started his career a year back, Wu Wenxiang is excited about launching his international career on one of the world's most prestigious fashion stages.
Yang Hong though is not a new face for the top brands.
This is his second year modelling for Gorgio Armani. He says it's always a dream come true for him to walk on the runways of Milan.
With the Paris Fashion Week about to kick off next month, Yang Hong is already looking forward to taking the flight for the selections in France.
But it isn't just top Chinese models who are emerging on the world's fashion stage; more and more Chinese designers are also making their mark.
In the last Spring/Summer Menswear Week in Milan, Chinese designer Ji Wenbo made a name for himself
worldwide.
While Ji wenbo is looking forward to unveiling his new collection this summer, the organizers of the Milan Fashion Week also hope to see more creations from China.
Although China is already a major force in world luxury retail market, more Chinese designers and models are expected to see in the world's fashion beat.
