EXCLUSIVE: Third time is not the charm: Feedly targeted by yet another DDoS attack

This week has not been kind to RSS aggregator Feedly. After being targeted by distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks over the last two days, the service reported being targeted yet again earlier this morning.

According to the updates, Feedly was able to quickly neutralize the threat in the United States, though it took a few hours for the third wave to be neutralized throughout the rest of the world.

Feedly is currently being targeted by a third round of DDoS attacks. We are working on it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

According to Feedly, pollers are back at full speed and will be back on time within the hour. However, this is the third day in a row that Feedly has become the target of a DDoS attack, so it's anyone guess as to how much longer they may continue. This seems to be an effort to wear Feedly down instead of a one-and-done approach.

The cause for the initial DDoS attack, said Feedly, was an attempt at extorting money from the service. While some users are understandably upset by the news, the majority are showing strong support for the service:

.@feedly stay strong! Would rather not get news than have you submit to DDOS attacks!
