Sulaiman Abdulkarim Isah won the first position in the international Quran completion category of the 18th session of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award which took place on Friday, July 18 in Dubai.
He defeated 77 other Quran contestants to clinch the coveted first prize.
Isah won the award along with the AED250,000 prize money which is about N11.5m with Omar Hussain Baeisa of Saudi Arabia and Yemeni Mohammed Khaled Yaseen coming in second and third places.
According to newspaper, Emirates 247, the concluding ceremony at the Cultural and Scientific Association, Mamzar, was attended by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, along with a number of senior officials, dignitaries, 78 Quran contestants, and members of the public.
