While 4K adoption among consumers has yet to take hold, equipment that shoot 4K video are trickling into the marketplace. One such device is the Panasonic HX-A500, which is described as the world's first 4K wearable camera. Worn around the ear at eye-level for hands-free recording, the waterproof camcorder can shoot ultra-high-definition (UHD) point-of-view video at 4K/30p, or standard Full HD 1080/60p.
To demo how the HX-A500 can be used in the sporting world, Panasonic created a video featuring Brazilian soccer star, Neymar da Silva Santos Junior, also known simply as Neymar. Panasonic equipped the athlete with an HX-A500 to record footage of him displaying his fancy footwork. The camcorder even captured Neymar's "two-point" goal into a basketball hoop (with his feet, naturally), which is described as the toughest and "most unusual" goal of his career. The video also shows Neymar reviewing the footage on a Panasonic 4K tablet.
Unfortunately, the YouTube video can't be viewed in 4K, but it at least shows what most users can do with Panasonic's take on the POV action camcorder, minus the tricks.
