» more Lupita Nyong'O and Cate Blanchett cover the February edition of Entertainment Weekly.
Lupita Nyong'O just got another win... not an award but... the Oscar winner has just been signed with Hollywood talent agency CAA. The company is best known for representing big stars like Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, Jessica Chastain, Berenice Bejom, Marion Cotillard and Naomi Rapace.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, she became the target of every major agency as soon as she signed on to 12 Years A Slave starring alongside Brad Pitt, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Fassbender. But according to insiders, she postponed taking any meetings not only until after the movie had wrapped but also until well after the awards season had ended.
At CAA, Nyong'O will be repped by the famed Hylda Queally who also reps the top above mentioned actresses but she remains repped by D2 Management and the law firm Del Shaw.
The darling of Oscar season dominated red carpets and media appearances in what marked her breakthrough year during which she racked up numerous Critics' Choice awards, a SAG award, and Golden Globes and BAFTA nominations.
In the wake of her Oscar win, she did meet with "Star Wars VII" director J.J. Abrams, but is not expected to appear in that film. She played a supporting role as a flight attendant in the Liam Neeson thriller "Non-Stop," even before her breakout role began pouring in. She again, recently signed with Lancome to become one of its brand ambassadors.
Will this Kenyan beauty ever stop to rise?
