The Last of Us may be coming to PlayStation 4 as a proper port, DLC and all, according to comments made by PlayStation's Eurasian Software Market Manager, Sercan Sulun. The interview with Sulun ran on CNN Türk, the cable news network's Turkish channel, with a translation of what he said provided to IGN:
"There is no information about a new The Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge; as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically," the translation reads. "The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play 'Left Behind' as well."
It doesn't get much more explicit than that as far as confirmation goes. Sulun's words, according to the translation at least, don't leave much room for interpretation. The statement (or the translation) could be inaccurate, but Sulun seems to be under the impression that a boxed retail version of The Last of Us is coming to PS4, at least in his region of the world.
The situation gets even stranger when you look at Sony's official response to the news. Reached for comment by Eurogamer, a Sony Europe spokesperson replied, "At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject." There's no mention of Sulun's comments; simply a statement of fact that nothing's been "officially" revealed.
Sony demoed The Last of Us with its PlayStation Now game streaming service earlier this year, but a proper PS4 port isn't totally outside the realm of possibility. The game was an immediate hit with critics and an overall winner in multiple Game of the Year award categories, but it came out as a PlayStation 3 exclusive just weeks before the PS4 launched.
