Dame Vivienne Westwood reveals short grey crop in all its glory after shaving off her Titian locks to show she's 'proud of her age'

Dame Vivienne Westwood unveiled her white-haired crop in its entirety at a protest in south London after revealing to MailOnline that she had done to show she was 'proud of her age'.

Vivienne, 72, first revealed the surprising change of locks at the end of her Autumn/Winter ready-to-wear collection fashion show, in Paris on Saturday.

The eccentric designer was famous for her flame-haired Titian locks as well as her stunning frocks.

The designer's publicist explained to MailOnline: 'Vivienne cut her hair as we must all wake up to Climate Change. And secondly as she wanted to cut the red out for a while and have it white- to show she's proud of her age.'

Vivienne is an avid supporter of Greenpeace's campaign to Save The Artic, and told The Guardian she is hoping to change climate change through fashion:

'What I want people to be able to do is to buy well, by first choosing well and then making it last. And I also believe that if everyone wore just a few beautiful things, there would not be such a climate change problem.'
