Cameron's serious selfie on the phone to Obama mocked online by comedians, animals and actor Patrick Stewart

PM posted photo on Twitter to show he has direct line to White House.

He was discussing situation in Ukraine with Barack Obama.

But the image sparked copycat photos from serious-looking celebrities
David Cameron was so keen to show how he has a direct line to the White House he tweeted a picture of himself calling Barack Obama.

But the Prime Minister's serious selfie has been mocked online, with celebrities and animals lining up to tease the Prime Minister.

The backlash once again reminds Mr Cameron of his infamous warning that 'too many tweets might make a t***'.

Prime Minister David Cameron's selfie was supposed to portray him as a serious statesman with a direct line to the White House.

Last night, with tensions rising in Ukraine, Mr Cameron called President Obama to discuss Russia's incursion into Crimea and the need to deter any further action by President Puutin.

Soon after the Prime Minister posted a picture of himself looking very serious while talking on a telephone in his Downing Street office.
