The Voice Coaches - CeeLo Green Quits

Music star CeeLo Green is no more a coach on the popular music TV show, The Voice and despite what many thought that he got fired, the legendary music composer actually bowed out due to something else.
An insider with a full knowledge of Green's situation has revealed that the entertainer's decision to quit the popular NBC show was done more to avoid being fired by the Mark Burnett Productions - the producer of "The Voice" - and the network.
Green reportedly dropped the news of his sudden exit from the show on The Ellen DeGeneres Show despite the fact that NBC had opted to join him in announcing his departure.
Green's announcement allegedly put producers in a complicated position as they are unsure what to do with his vacant coach's seat. However, an NBC spokesman told TheWrap few days ago that, "CeeLo's departure didn't blindside us at all. This was a mutual decision and we're looking forward to working with him in the future on different projects and expect to be in business with him."
Although he is leaving the coach's seat, Green's relationship with NBC will still continue but in other ways. "I have a television show development deal with them as well and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year," he said while citing his desire to not "wear out my welcome" as the reason behind his departure.
His exit bomb shell comes during a trying period for the star who reportedly had series of meltdown during the show plus his legal issues which almost sent him to jail. In at least two occasions, Green reportedly had to leave the set because the weight of potential prison time from a legal case had taken its toll on the entertainer.
Green is accused of slipping ecstasy to a 33-year-old woman ecstasy while the pair was dining at a downtown Los Angeles restaurant last July of last year. He's charged with furnishing a controlled substance, a felony charge that can land him up to four years in state prison.
