13 HOURS TO GO IN TRANSFER FOOTBALL MARKET

Right then, guys. That clock is ticking - we've now got just 13 hours to go until the transfer window closes for business. You've got time for a quick brew and biscuit before I bring you some news from Craven Cottage...
10:03

BBC Sport's David Ornstein
"Fulham are exploring the possibility of signing Everton defender John Heitinga. Cottagers boss Rene Meulensteen has identified fellow Dutchman Heitinga as his preferred signing to replace Aaron Hughes if the 34-year-old Northern Ireland international moves to QPR.

"Meanwhile, Fulham hope to complete the signing of Germany midfielder Lewis Holtby on loan from Tottenham for the rest of the season and the west London club are also working on deals to recruit Manchester United midfielders Ryan Tunnicliffe and Larnell Cole, both of whom were coached by Meulensteen during his time at Old Trafford.

"However, their hopes of signing Olympiakos striker Kostas Mitroglou are in the balance after West Ham lodged a more lucrative offer to the Greece international."
10:04
DONE DEAL

Sunderland have completed the signing of Scotland international Liam Bridcutt from Brighton and Hove Albion. The 24-year-old midfielder, who arrives on Wearside for an undisclosed fee, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal.
10:06

DONE DEAL
Midfielder Faris Haroun joins Blackpool from Middlesbrough on a permanent deal until the end of the season while Millwall striker Andy Keogh joins on loan until the end of the season.
10:07

Everton update
Just to add to David Ornstein's note [1003], Everton manager Roberto Martinez said yesterday that there could be more transfer business at Everton but it all depends on Heitinga's future.

"At the moment there is no real solution in his situation," said Martinez. "I think any sort of movement from now until the end of the window will depend on how Jonny's situation develops."
Get that fax sent, Rene.

Coventry City update
Coventry City have revealed on their official website that they are in talks with Swansea City regarding a possible loan move for 21-year-old striker Rory Donnelly.

Donnelly will train with Coventry today, subject to an agreement being reached between the two clubs.

Billy in Bolton: Just seen Tony Hibbert getting off the train at Middlebrook near Reebok Stadium. Could this be the deal of the day?
10:14

Surely not, Billy? Tony is part of the furniture at Goodison Park. Perhaps he's on a daytrip to see the Spirit of Sport landmark on the roundabout there? The only possible explanation...
10:15

View from Europe
BBC Sport World Service's John Bennett: "Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier says he won't be moving to Newcastle United on deadline day.
"At a press conference this morning the French international told reporters: 'I never had the intention of leaving the club this winter. We still have plenty of ambitions to achieve with at Lyon'."
10:16

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty
Everton update
"Fulham's enquiry for Everton defender John Heitinga is an interesting potential deal as the Netherlands international previously decided to give West Ham United a wide berth in this window. Perhaps his fellow countryman Rene Meulensteen can succeed where Sam Allardyce failed.

"Galatasaray have also shown interest in Heitinga and if he goes this may prompt more activity at Everton, whose defensive resources would be reduced even further following Bryan Oviedo's serious injury."
10:18

Nottingham Forest update
BBC Sport's Owen Phillips: "Nottingham Forest could well be one of the busier clubs in the transfer market today. On-loan Sunderland midfielder David Vaughan is highly likely to extend his stay with the Championship side and deals for Hull City duo Danny Graham and Jack Hobbs are by no means dead.

"Centre-half Hobbs was recalled by his parent club earlier this month, but Forest are still keen - despite signing another defender in Kevin Gomis on Thursday. Wigan and Reading are also said to be interested.

"And there is still a possibility of bringing in out-of-favour Tigers striker Danny Graham. The 28-year-old is way down the pecking order at the Premier League club following the recent signings of Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long.

"Forest, who came from 2-0 down to beat Watford on Thursday and are fifth in the table, have also signed Southampton defender Danny Fox and Algeria striker Rafik Djebbour in recent days."

Lewis in Leeds: Just nipped into a cafe in Leeds for breakfast to see Tony Yeboah and Brian McDermott signing contracts over a brew and a bacon butty.

10:19
Crossbars around the country are beginning to shake at the prospect, Lewis.
10:20
Celtic update
News from north of the border now, with Wolves accepting a third offer from Celtic for striker Leigh Griffiths. Things are beginning to move...

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty

"Sunderland done & dusted on the Liam Bridcutt deal - presumably triggering Stoke City's move for Lee Cattermole. Will he fancy that?"
10:23
Lincoln City update
BBC Radio Lincolnshire's Rob Makepeace: "Lincoln City look set to bring in three new players today. The Imps have had a bid accepted by Cambridge United for on-loan striker Delano Sam-Yorke. City are also looking to bring in Thierry Audel from Crewe and Charlee Adams from Birmingham City on loan."
10:27
DONE DEAL (EUROPE)

BBC World Service Sport's John Bennett: "It's official - as I predicted earlier this morning, 2013 Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund have signed Serbian midfielder Milos Jojic from Partizan Belgrade.
"The arrival of the promising 21 year-old will ease the injury crisis at the Westfalenstadion.
"Jakub Blaszczykowski is the latest addition to Dortmund's long list of long-term absentees and head coach Jurgen Klopp wanted Jojic add depth to his depleted squad."

Davey in Newcastle: Standing behind Peter Beardsley at a cashpoint in Newcastle this morning, asked if Newcastle would be signing anyone today, he told me to mind my own business. Could mean big signings?
10:31
Lawro's Verdict
Lawro on Tottenham: "I cannot see Tottenham signing anybody on transfer deadline day. In fact you could argue Tim Sherwood has got too many players and should look to sell or loan out a couple.
"I certainly don't think he needs any more new faces to sort out. His issue is more that when all his players are fit he has got to decide who his best team is for them to kick on."
10:35
The agent's view
Nobody enjoys Transfer Deadline Day more than football agents. Hawking players around like Del Boy on Peckham market, agents can make millions of pounds from a few phone calls.
That's the perception, anyway. But is it the reality?
"Forgive me for sniggering, but for those people who believe that agents get their money for doing very little then perhaps they should spend a couple of days with me to see what I have to do in order to get a deal over the line," agent Raymond Sparkes told BBC Scotland.
Interestingly, Sparkes describes the January transfer window as "dramatic and unnecessary", offering "nuisance value" for unsettled players.
Come on now Ray...
10:37
Premier League spending 2014
News from football finance experts Deloitte now. Before the start of business this morning, Premier League clubs had spent around £95m on new players during this transfer window, £10m more than this time last year.
On the final day of the window in January 2013, Premier League clubs spent £25m. However much they spend in the next 12-and-a-bit hours - and it promises to be a lot more than that - the combined transfer spend of English top-flight clubs this season has already passed the £700m mark for the first time, with spending currently at a cool £725m.
10:39
Aston Villa update
BBC Radio 5 live's Pat Murphy: "Aston Villa still haven't given up on signing Wes Hoolahan from Norwich City, even though they've had two bids turned down for the Republic of Ireland midfielder.
"Hoolahan, 31, wants to join his former manager Paul Lambert at Villa Park but there's been bad blood between the two clubs ever since Lambert left Carrow Road in the summer of 2012, taking key members of the backroom staff with him.
"Villa can't make any progress against a blank refusal by Norwich to negotiate over a player who's now just on the first-team fringe, valued at around £1m, but I understand they'll keep trying to land Hoolahan until time runs out."
10:40
Oxford United update
BBC Oxford Sport report that Oxford United are trying to tie up the loan signing of Portsmouth striker David Connolly.

Rian Hoskins: Heitinga would give Fulham more defensive stability but would be another old player in an ageing side. Wages are a problem, too.
10:44
West Ham update
It looks like Big Sam is busy today, because he's sent Neil McDonald out to face the media. And the Hammers right-hand man has been on good form - saying they will play "21st-century football" at home to Swansea on Saturday. That, of course, is in response to Jose Mourinho's jibes in midweek.
On the transfer window, McDonald adds: "With it being deadline day, Sam is busy in the background trying to recruit players for us. We've recruited really well so far. I wouldn't rule out anybody coming into the club. Joleon Lescott is Manchester City's player and, until that changes, I cannot comment."
10:48

BBC Sport's David Ornstein
Arsenal update

"Arsenal are working on a deal to sign Sweden midfielder Kim Kallstrom on loan from Russian club Spartak Moscow until the end of the season
"The vastly-experienced 31-year-old will provide cover for the injured Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere, with Mathieu Flamini suspended for the next three games.
"Arsenal are confident the transfer will be completed by the 23:00 GMT deadline.
"Kallstrom joined Spartak in 2012 following a six-year spell with Lyon, where he played more than 200 games and helped the French side to the Champions League semi-finals in 2012."
10:50
QPR/Harry update
BBC Radio 5 live's John Southall: "QPR are hoping to sign Aaron Hughes from Fulham and Kevin Doyle from Wolves, both on loan deals.
"They're also interested in Mohammed Diame from West Ham but it's unlikely the Hammers will let the midfielder go.
"There's still also a possibility that Tom Carroll will be recalled by Spurs when the Lewis Holtby deal to Fulham goes through."

You Say Spurs: We need a Van Der Vaart- style signing today at Spurs. Hope Daniel Levy can sort something out before the clock runs out!
10:54
DONE DEAL
QPR have signed Aaron Hughes on loan from Fulham. Harry's not going to let that transfer window close without him landing a few new players.
10:57
All quiet at Leicester
BBC Sport's Owen Phillips: "Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson seems pretty certain they won't be over-active on transfer deadline day. And given their recent form - which sees them eight points clear at the top of the Championship table after eight consecutive league wins - it's easy to see why Pearson wants a quiet day.
"Fulham's interest in Liam Moore has cooled and Pearson has no desire to sell the highly-rated defender. So unless the London club make a ludicrously big last-minute bid, the sort of which no club can turn down. And way, way in excess of what has been mooted so far - then he will be staying put."
11:00
12 HOURS TO GO
Right then. 12 hours to go - what's been happening and what could happen?
The biggest 'done deal' so far is Sunderland's £3m signing of Brighton midfielder Liam Bridcutt. Meanwhile, Cardiff City have completed the loan signing of Wilfried Zaha.
Other potential deals include Arsenal signing Kim Kallstrom, Manchester City swooping for Porto pair Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando, and Chelsea landing 19-year-old St Etienne defender Kurt Zouma for £12m.

Italian champions Juventus

"Italian international striker Dani Osvaldo is currently undergoing examinations at Turin's Istituto di Medicina dello Sport, after which he will complete his medical at the Isokinetic and Clinica Fornaca di Sessant centres."
11:01
DONE DEAL
Don't say we don't try to bring you all the news. Conference Premier side Dartford have signed striker Miken Suarez from Conference South club Tonbridge Angels on an permanent deal and extended Rory McAuley's loan spell from Cambridge United until the end of the season.
11:06
Blackburn Rovers update
BBC Sport's Andy Cryer: "Crystal Palace are in talks with Blackburn about signing Scott Dann, with Rovers hopeful of signing winger Craig Conway from Cardiff and also Leeds striker Luke Varney."
