Born Raoul John Njeng-Njeng on the 1 of April 1991 is a Nigerian rapper, song writer and performer. He was born in Kaduna and is an only child. Skales attended Lead City Unversity,however took time off for his music, he recently graduated with a degree in Office Management and Technology
Skales had a passion for rap music and between 2007 and 2008;he journeyed to Jos to work with Nigeria's finest .Jeremiah Gyang and Jesse Jagz. In 2008, he took it to another level when he entered theZainTru Search talent competition in 2008 and emerged as the winner for the North Central region, and then moved to Lagos.
His first single, 'Must Shine' enjoyed good airplay early 2009 and made it to the Rhythm FM Top 7 Jamz at 7 in Lagos for some weeks and then it was also the 'Hit Song of the Week' on Rhythm FM in Jos and Abuja. Skales has gone on to record and write well over 200 songs and has collaborated with some of the finest music acts in Nigeria such as Eldee Tha Don, Jeremiah Gyang and Knight house.
Best Known For : Skales got signed to Empire Mates Entertainment in 2009 , the music label credited for one of Nigeria's highly demanded artistes, Banky W and Wizkid; and in the time released several songs, including the rap hit 'Heading for a Grammy'.Skales won his first accolade for his music 'Best Upcoming atiste (Male) at the Nigerian Teens Choice awards' in 2013.
As of February 2014, Skales is no longer signed to EME label as his contract has run out; he is now reportedly signed on to Timaya's Dem Mama Music label
