Trial of ousted president Morsi adjourned until Feb. 1st

The trial of former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi has been adjourned. Security officials said the helicopter that was to transport him from a prison near Alexandria had been grounded by fog.

Morsi and 14 others are on trial for inciting the killing of protesters outside a presidential palace in Cairo in December 2012, when at least 10 people were killed and hundreds were wounded. The judge from Cairo Criminal Court ordered the hearings to be adjourned until 1 February.

It is the first of three trials that Morsi will face. Charges in all three carry the death penalty. Outside the trial venue, heavy security guarded the perimeter as crowds gathered
outside. A number of Morsi supporters were reportedly seen being arrested by police.
